Dot2dot and modart have designed a four-hour workshop that includes a two-hour walk in one of the most historical and creative parts of the city center and a two-hour workshop in our facilities. We visit historical markets that have survived until today and come in contact with professions that have survived throughout the centuries. During our walk we become inspired and purchase materials and fabrics and then we create different objects (t-shirt, bags, decorative objects etc.).
During the two-hour workshops children learn about contemporary art! Each time an artist and an artwork, the story of the creator and his artwork, the influences and the great movements in art history are presented through audiovisual material. We observe, discuss, exchange opinions and ideas and then re-produce our own versions of the artworks using several different materials and methods such as painting and collage.
The terms “art”, “civilization” and “cultural heritage” are neither abstract and mysterious, nor should they be taken for granted. So, along with the walks, we organize other cultural activities and programs that aim to familiarize our audience with these terms and with the idea of creative expression through art. We are dedicated to promoting a range of interesting ideas and creating space and opportunities for a wide range of all sorts of possible collaborations.
Our workshops have an educational character and deal with artistic and cultural issues. They take place in our facilities and are limited to a small number of people on each occasion, while often a workshop can be a complementary part of a thematic route having been designed in connection with it.
